Terms of use
The ground rules for this website, in plain language: what the information here is, what a quote means, and what is not in force until it is confirmed in writing.
These terms govern your use of this website, which is operated by Nikki Tehara, a licensed BC insurance broker serving all of British Columbia through InsureBC (Squamish) Insurance Services Ltd. The short version: the site is general information, quotes are estimates, and no coverage is in force until confirmed in writing by a licensed broker.
Using this site
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. These terms apply to every page on nikkiinsuresbc.ca.
General information, not advice
The pages on this site explain how insurance commonly works in British Columbia. They are general information, not advice about your specific situation, and they are not policy documents. What any policy covers is set by the wording of that policy, not by anything written here. Before relying on a coverage detail, confirm it with Nikki or with your insurer, with your actual policy documents in hand.
Quotes and coverage
Any quote produced through this site, or in the conversation that follows it, is an estimate based on the information provided. Every quote is subject to underwriting, which means an insurer can adjust the price, add conditions or decline the risk once it reviews the details. No coverage is bound or in force until a licensed broker confirms it to you in writing. A submitted quote form, an emailed estimate or a phone conversation does not create coverage.
ICBC Autoplan
ICBC Autoplan rates are set by ICBC, not by this site or by any broker. Autoplan is not sold through this website. ICBC offers online renewal for eligible policies, and transactions such as new plates, transfers and coverage changes are completed with an Autoplan broker.
Your information
Insurance is priced on what you tell the insurer, so you are responsible for giving complete and accurate information when you ask for a quote or buy a policy, and for updating it when your situation changes. If information turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete, an insurer can reduce a claim payment, deny the claim or void the policy entirely. If you are not sure whether something matters, mention it and let Nikki sort out whether it does.
Links to other websites
This site links to outside resources such as ICBC and the Government of British Columbia. Those links are provided for reference. The sites behind them are not under this site’s control, a link is not an endorsement of everything found there, and outside pages can change without notice. Check important details on the official source itself.
Limitation of liability
This site is provided as is. Reasonable care goes into keeping it accurate and current, but no website about insurance can substitute for the wording of an actual policy, and no promise is made that every page is error free or always available. To the fullest extent the law allows, Nikki Tehara and InsureBC (Squamish) Insurance Services Ltd. are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of this site or from reliance on its general information. This section does not limit any right you hold under a policy you have actually purchased, or any right that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes to the site and these terms
Pages on this site may be edited, added or removed at any time, and these terms may change. When the terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute connected to this website, are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply in British Columbia.
